Summer Blast is a youth program presented by the Syracuse Library Foundation. It takes education beyond the classroom by providing students with unique, motivating, hands-on learning opportunities! These fun and engaging classes are geared to incorporate science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Summer Blast also emphasizes creative thinking, collaboration, experimentation, and exploration.
Classes are tailored to students who are completing grades K-6 in the Spring of 2023. Classes will be held June 5-9, 2023, at the Syracuse Middle School; morning classes run from 8 am-12 pm, and afternoon classes run from 1 pm-4 pm. All classes will comply with the current COVID-19 health guidelines in place at the time of the event.
The cost to attend will be $25 for the first class (per family, any # of kids) and only $35 if your family was signing up for two or more classes (per family, any # of kids)! We’re also offering lunch supervision for kids who wish to take a morning and afternoon class and bring their own sack lunch to eat in between! Scholarships for FREE classes are available to families who provide proof of free/reduced lunch status.
All registrations must be done online this year. Online payment or proof of free & reduced lunch status is required with registration. Spots are filled based on the order in which complete registrations are submitted. If a class you requested is full, we will reach out to ask about an alternate class. Once this process is complete, you will receive an email confirming your student’s spot is reserved.
