***2024 Registration Opens in April*** INFORMATION FROM LAST YEAR SHOWN BELOW… SUBJECT TO CHANGE FOR 2024.
Summer Blast is a youth program presented by the Syracuse Library Foundation. It takes education beyond the classroom by providing students with unique, motivating, hands-on learning opportunities! These fun and engaging classes are geared to incorporate science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Summer Blast also emphasizes creative thinking, collaboration, experimentation, and exploration.
Classes are tailored to students completing grades K-6 in the Spring of 2023. Classes will be held June 5-9, 2023, at the Syracuse Middle School; morning classes run from 9 am-12 pm, and afternoon classes run from 1 pm-4 pm.
The cost to attend will be $25 for the first class and only $35 for two or more classes (maximum of $35 per family, any # of kids)! We’re also offering lunch supervision for kids who wish to take a morning and afternoon class and bring a sack lunch from home to eat in between sessions! Scholarships for FREE classes are available to families who provide proof of free/reduced school lunch status.
All registrations must be done online this year. Registration opens April 15, 2023 – first come, first serve – the last day to sign up is May 27. Online payment or proof of free & reduced lunch status is required with registration. Spots are filled based on the order in which complete registrations are submitted. If a class you requested is full, we will reach out to ask about an alternate class. Once this process is complete, you will receive an email confirming your student’s reserved spot.
